Christmas Cookies Marathon
In these individual classes, each student will bake their own desserts to take home to their family to enjoy. Please note: Classes have limited enrollment therefore, No Refunds or Cancellations 10 days prior to the class start date. Students are to provide all supplies and equipment unless otherwise stated. Please see supply list. Come and enjoy this fun filled day of baking and decorating cookies for the holiday. Each student will make and decorate their cookies to take home to their families and friends to enjoy. Instructor will bring cookie cutters to share with all. Note: Students will bring all supplies and equipment to class including decorating tips and couplers. Please see supply list. Instructor will supply meringue powder, colors and two decorating bags for $1, payable to the instructor the day of class. Decorating tips, couplers and additional decorating bags available for a fee. (This class is excluded from the ﾓEarly Birdﾔ discount.)

Make sure your email address is current in the ABC Adult School system. Students will be making shortbread-butter cookies and royal icing flood work. Meringue powder (dry egg whites) is needed to make the royal icing. Instructor will provide meringue powder, one coupler, a clear disposable piping bag, icing colors and a #2 piping tip for a fee not to exceed $2.00. Table coverings will be provided for the tables. Paste-gel icing colors, couplers, disposable bags, and tips can be purchased at craft stores: Michaels, Jo-Ann's and cake candy shops. At Michaels you can use their discount coupons. SUPPLIES/EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR CLASS: ﾕ Two (2) baking/cookie sheets, cooling rack and rolling pin ﾕ Parchment paper ﾕ Cookie spatula or pancake turner ﾕ Set of dry measuring cups set of measuring spoon ﾕ 3 mixing bowls: Large and two medium (one medium size to be stainless) ﾕ Rubber spatula ﾕ Wooden spoon, sifter or mesh strainer ﾕ Hand-held electric mixer. Feel free to bring a stand mixer if you have one along with the paddle attachment ﾕ (2) Pot holders, 3 Dish towels ﾕ Plastic wrap/saran wrap, toothpicks or four wooden skewers ﾕ Cookie cutters. I have loads of cutters and will share with class. If you bring your own, please mark them to I.D. your cutters. ﾕ 12 Disposable decorating bags or parchment cones and at least 6-8 couplers. (use coupons) ﾕ 9 oz size plastic drinking glasses to mix icing, one per color. 8 would be a good number (99? store) ﾕ 2 dinner knives ﾕ # 2 round decorating tips. I suggest you purchase at least 2 or 3 more #2 tips. You can also just cut the tip off the end of your decorating bags to make designs. ﾕ OPTIONAL. Apron, Rolling mat. Cookies can be decorated with edible glitter, candy pearls, colorful sprinkles, etc. Feel free to purchase them and bring to class for your use. Michaels and JoAnns have a good variety. It is important when making the royal icing that everything is grease free, this is why you need a stainless bowl and new plastic disposable glasses. You can also use NEW plastic containers with lids for you icing. One per color. Instructor may add or delete items as needed for class. Any questions, feel free to email me.
